Very nice the way this was frozen as lands. Good composition and angle of view. The use of light and shade works well. Nice action shot. Kudos

I am impressed by this particular photo which shows this blue heron full in action and his long legs and spread wings.
We have a stork nest here on a high old hotel along the Rhein River and they can only be seen with strong binoculars, so that you have captured this blue heron on its high nest is amazing. Good clarity, great color of the pure blue sky, and your composition is well chosen.
Many thanks for being so dedicated and sharing the fruits of your labor!

Nice capture willie.

Your stop action is perfect...1/3500

I Like the contrast between the blue of the sky and the relatively monotone of the grey in the heron and it's nest.

Nice detail and excellent crop.

The 70-300mm lens is a bit short for such an image, so this is a good capture of a bird in motion. The light is too strong. Taking such a photo from a clearer point of view under more subtle light conditions would have been better.

Thanks! This was the only position I had to shoot from as there was a lot of tree branches in the way! I only have two hours of good light early in the morning. I do wish I had a more powerful lense but it is the largest one Olympus makes. They have a good sensor though!

I just love the pretty blue sky and how you capture him as he is landing in the best. Only time I get to see these awesome birds is in the zoo here in Milwaukee so it is near to see these birds free and out and about doing what they love! Awesome job and you stay safe out there!

well caught moment willie, just as the heron is about to land, probarly would have been a tad better more in close-up,but as it is a good shot of that moment, well done...brian

Thank you so very much! These trees are the tallest in the forest, and I feel fortunate just to get this!

Wait until the little ones start clicking! that is the most amazing thing, I can listen and watch for hours! Start looking for osprey nests near by, they are compatible birds, and the osprey act as policemen!..I love watching them bring in sticks and nest! Donkeyoatey
