Introduction: As a backdrop to my review observations, I am happy to divulge that my interest in Photography mainly focuses on the interplay of light on a subject or object and the surroundings encompassed within the four corners of a camera?s viewfinder. Fuji Velvia Slide film and a Lightbox are still highly thought of, which probably explains why I am a follower of Photography by Mike Busselle, Joe Cornish, Lee Frost, Tom Mackie, David Noton, Charlie Waite and John Webster. My self-absorbed thinking is not always concerned with Landscape and Travel. Occasionally, I enjoy shooting the odd Still Life using soft diffused window light.

When it comes to Wildlife Photography, I am aware of the work of Andy Rouse and just how far he pushes the boat out with Lady Luck at his side.

Art is undoubtedly the cornerstone of all Photographic paths, tracing it?s true roots back to cave drawings and etchings.

Digital Art has surely passed everyone?s expectations, and has led me to occasionally explore the challenges and creativity offered by a Fuji Finepix S2800HD Digital Camera.

I do not hold a teaching qualification, but I am BTEC National Diploma accredited in Design and a NAWE Professional follower / member.

All Artists surely have a unique thought process interacting with their craft.

As reviewers, we have to accept that our observations cannot always hit bullseye from a recipient?s viewpoint.

My aim is never to cause offence.

Observations: The Theatrical Lighting effect demonstrates that you were in the right place at the right time.

Captioning is simple and has been well thought through.

Creativity of presentation: First Rate
Color Harmony: Outstanding
Centre of Interest: Well seen
Technical Excellence: Respect
Technique: Imaginative
Story Telling Ability: Strong

Conclusion: A worthy Five Star Award.

Thank You for sharing.

This is really pretty! I like how the tree is growing everywhere and looks really cool! I love it! It's the only tree that pops out. So it must be a special tree!

this is very beautiful work in patels. I find pastels sometimes hard to get fine details. you have made this seem like an oil painting.

Thank you so much, they are tricky for fine details but you can get pastel pencils that help with that

Grate job I love the trees and the sandy dirt. Good shading, depth, and use of light and dark. The focus tree is soft and strong at the same time.

I usually try to give back a review for a review. I came here and saw I have already reviewed your latest work so I took a look through your portfolio to see what to review next and this attracted my attention. I really like trees and you have done a wonderful job of this one. Great texture and color in the bark. I like the way you did each leaf separately. This must have taken ages. Lovely detailed work.

Aww Thank you so much for taking the time out to review this when there is no dollar value on it. Funnily enough all my pastel landscapes are quick studies, this one took 2 hrs, thats what I love abut pastels they are so quick to work with :)

oh wow thank you Sandy!! what have you been up to? busy painting no doubt. Im picking the pics up tomorrow and having a swap about so keeping everything crossed something would have sold, they did say they would ring though if it did so its not looking hopeful, but positive thinking and all that :) Will let you know how it goes. I have just been given a big book commission so between that and the art trail in August Im gonna be flat out now for the next few months so wont be on here that much at all. Hopefully will come back with an arm full of illustrations to post though :) Thank you so much for the generous rating, I was quite pleased with how this turned out. I am currently trying to recreate these impressionistic pastel studies in acrylics and oils on larger canvases. Im half way through one and its at that stage when you really aren't sure how it will turn out. Will keep going and hopefully it will turn out as nice as the pastels, time will tell. What are you working on at the min?

Hope all has gone well on your exhibition. The paintings I sent away came back again. One I have sent away again so see how it goes this time. I have done one painting in a month. We are going overseas for 3 weeks and I have had all the running around getting everything done and at the end of the day I just want to go to bed so no site. I am now organized so that is now a big relife. I did an abstract which I am just about to post. Well it started out as an abstract and ended up a waterfall. You can tell me. Sandy

Well didn't sell any but she did say that everyone really liked the angel and if it was a little lower in price it would have sold, she was the one who priced it in the first place! Anyway that made me decide to paint more of them, seems to be the people pleaser. Ooh where abouts are you going? I loved the waterfall piece, pure genius transforming it like that!

We are heading off to Singapore first for 1 night and then off to Kota Kinabalu over near Boreno for 4 night to Sandaken for 3 nighs then fly back to Singapore where I stay while my husband goes to the Philliphines for 2 nights. He comes back and we go to Melacca by bus for 3 nights and then back to Singapore for 2 nights and then home. I am taking my computer with me and will keep in contact if I can get internet connection. So sorry you did't sell anything. This was your first outing so you are learing a few things and how to set prices. Wow a book todo. Congratulations what a wonderful thing to happen. Keep with the gallery go with the flow. if she though she was going to get a sale why didn't see offer a dicount for cash or something else she could think of. Sandy

This is awesome the way you have drawn it. The tree in this is just beautiful. I like the way you have put on all the branches and then added the leaves. The way you have done the coloring and detail on the tree is great. I like all the greens in this. I like the way you created the depth. The way you have the other trees in the background looks so neat. The big tree is just stunning the way you have done it. An excellent and beautiful work of art.

A really lovely pastel with great colour and light. The tree is fascinating. I can see that this would make a lovely illustration in a book.
