this is a beautiful painting that illustrates Cyn's beautiful poem well. I love the passionate colors the figure ad the cross changing or transforming into the Phoenix above. Her poem and your painting has deep symbolic meaning and feeling. Well done both of you.

Wow! You really did capture Cyn's poem well! To start, the colors are vibrant and well interpreted. The symbolism of the phoenix rising and the bodies coming together as one are blended well within the whole pic. Congratulations! You created an excellent representation of the poem :) Joan

When I first looked at this I thought, "What in the heck is this about." I looked at it for awhile trying to think about what I saw in the painting. The first thing that jumped out at me was an expression of fire and intense heat. I was unable to figure out what the blue line and the white horizontal line across the top had to do with the painting. As I looked at the painting I got a sense of warmness yet coldness, if that makes any sense?

Then I read the poem--twice. I have a difficult time interpreting and understanding most poems. I will read one, and a person will say, "what did you think?" When I try to describe it, it is usually 180 degrees off what the writer intended. LOL

Looking at this painting and comparing to the poem, I believe you have interpreted and expressed yourself quite nicely. I still don't understand everything about the poem. I will though try to point out my understanding ...

"Fire and ice, blazing blue and rashly red" --Now I see why the blue was added. The reds and yellows are pretty obvious huh?

"Molten metal..." I take the whitish pink undulating to the bottom of the painting as this representation?

"the Phoenix perched atop..." For me it is the white "bird shape near the top," but then it could also represent the melting cross blending into the whitish pink?

I think perhaps I am too literal when I read poems and look at painting such as this.

I enjoy the shapes and patterns and the colors, primarily shades of red with a few other sharp vibrant colors (blue-yellow). The blue, even as little as there is in the painting, drew my attention to the painting immediately.

I do however believe you captured the essence of the poem very nicely. I can't imagine the author is not pleased with your product.

Thank you, you should be very proud of this. Hope I wasn't too far off base. If I was, oh well, another poorly interpreted job by me...LOL

The colours and the way they were intertwined attracted my eye. Visually appealing. I read the poem and I think you did a great job capturing the emotion in the poem.
