You have picked an excellent subject for the contest and I wish you good luck! However, I do not see very much detail in the orange of this plant. It seems a bit washed out. Well, I never pick a winner, so don't worry about my review.

I like the interesting shapes in the leaves of this plant, although I find it slightly out of focus, and the image a little busy. My suggestion is to focus on the centre using a wide aperture so that you throw more of the background out of focus and isolate your subject with dof.
