Good pose. You said you were stressed but actually look happy - maybe to be home from work? Hope the gym reduced the stress. My 12yr old grandaughter is my biggest critic she sees the laugh lines as wrinkles and swears she'll have botox when older! I think they add character, you look like a nice person

Nice portrait. I like the black and white treatment and the chiarascuro effect of the shadow. A very human portrait that doesn't seek to hide real life

I don't know how you got that from this photo but it's totally true. There is no hiding reality. Thanks so much for the review.

for the end of the day you look pretty good. in fact, you should have thrown open the aperture a bit more to let some more light in so we can see more please. Half the face is a cute idea, but at least a shadowed version of the other half please?

You should call it 'lines of wisdom and grace' gathered over the years! That shows in a kind of knowing smile on your face.I like the B&W shot with a single point lighting.Good luck in the contest!

Really fabulous lighting brings this self portrait to life. I really love your composition here and although I see stress lines I also see laughter lines. Good luck in the contest with this. I'm stressing cos I want a Nikon D90 lol.

I think they are called "Character Lines"! What a lovely shot and I did enjoy reading the artist notes too. Like that you converted this to black and white too. Nice job, well framed.

Thank you Susie. I am so glad you enjoyed this image!! I don't mind the lines, sometimes it's just how I feel.

You look so beautiful. I don't called them lines of stress, I would called them smile lines because it looks to me like you smile a lot. Good luck in the contest. Excellent photo.

Thank you so much!! There are really both. I do smile a lot, but it's stress too.
I appreciate your good karma.

i like this shot of you, whoever you are. good use of light and shadow and a good natural capture of the "lines of stress". the focus, exposure and positioning in frame are good as well. a very good shot of yourself. dave :)
