Ah, what an experience to be so close to this beauty. The sharpness of the Heron is perfect. Good reflection. The background colors from the autumn trees make this photo look like a watercolor painting. Very well done.

Beautiful Heron. I love his blue color. I like him standing on top of the little piece of land. Of course the reflections are fabulous. Really nice image shot well.

Perfect shot here-and I am out of 6's for some reason. Not your canned point of view, but one showing the perfect reflection of the heron in the water-almost mirror like. The clarity is pinpoint sharp. WOnderful background work doesn't interfere with the enjoyment of the subject, but pushes him toward the viewer. Wonderful work! Jean

Perfect shot here-and I am out of 6's for some reason. Not your canned point of view, but one showing the perfect reflection of the heron in the water-almost mirror like. The clarity is pinpoint sharp. WOnderful background work doesn't interfere with the enjoyment of the subject, but pushes him toward the viewer. Wonderful work! Jean

This is a beautiful image. It is wonderfully balanced; that reflection is excellent. The detail in the bird is superb. My only slight criticism is that the image is a touch dark. However, it is quite possible that this is down to the uploading process for FAR. I am not surprised that this has reached "All Time Best" status... well deserved... well done!

Fantastic framing and Rule of Thirds. The fine detail in the eye and the feathers is spectacular.
It looks like "fall" colors reflected in the water and creates a wonderful backgound abd foeground.

focus is a tad soft and the ?birch tree reflecting on the left is a bit distracting, but still an exceptional capture

Beautiful photo. The angle is just right to catch a full reflection. Great camera technique - focus, exposure and depth of field are perfect. There is a lot of detail, Heron wise while the background is a gentle blur. Great photo!
