this is an incredible and iconic image of mexico. such an image usually pops up in the western movies (of a sleeping mexican dude) but this really sums up both the attitude and the colour. makes me want to go and buy a poncho (quick time) and then fall asleep in such an exotic (far off) land. also loving the depiction of realistic desert plants.

Thank you, I am proud and humbled all the same by your review and your high rating. You may come down to Mexico but better do NOT fall asleep on that palm tree. Do you see on what he will land when he slid down any farther? I was curious if someone would find out about my mischievous joke.
-
oh yes. that is great joke, i missed. the desert plants take their revenge haha.
-
You got it! It is the Blue Agave, the one the make the tequila from. LOL

I love this! Vibrant colours that really capture the heat and mood of the place. I lived in Spain for a few years and when I moved back to England one of the things I really missed was a daily siesta!

Love the colours used in here, it really grabs you. There's a nice sense of movement with the paint strokes in the leaves and his poncho. Is he actually asleep or just resting against the tree? If he was asleep I would of had him sitting and resting against the tree

Thank you very much. Asleep or resting? Who knows. I do not. I have seen those guys leaning against an palm tree actually asleep; but not as we do. More like an animal, sleeping but alert to the same time. The are able to take a siesta on the working place, but keep working soon the boss shows.
There is another option: He may had a bit too much tequila.
-
ha ha I like the idea of too much tequila, looks like me at the weekend he he
-
It is weekend, thats why I posted it on sunday. The plant down is a Blue Agave, the one tequila is made from. The have dig needle like thorns on top of the leaves. Do you see what would happen if he slid down any deeper? LOL

What a beautiful work of art. Many think in the heat its better to peal layers off. The reality is that layers work as insulation against the heat protecting us. You colors are so beautiful. Awesome work of art here. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you I am truly honored by your encouraging review and your high rating. Happy you like my painting.

Its my culture and most don't understand that because of the heat we sleep and most of the work is done at night in those parts of the world. Beautiful work.
-
It not where I did grow up; but where I live for the last 16 years. I got part of my culture in this time :-)
-
Totally understand. You have embraced the culture there. Makes me smile that some really know that the Mexican People are a good people.
-
We would not live here, if there wouldn't be good people. The differences between people are much less than some like to think. Its as everywhere there are the good and the bad :-)

Thank you David, your review and your approval of my work means a lot to me. Did you see my little joke I put in there? If not just look who he will land when he slid down farther on that tree. Pictures as words down here mean often more than one thing :-)
-
haha that would give him a rude awakening LOL
-
Yes ;-}
