Another one that deserves a 6 but i don't have it. I like the selective colouring and the ever so sharp focus all make for a great picture with the main subject standing out.

Great photo, I love the idea of partial black and white, just wonder what it would look like if the flower was black and white too, have you tried that? Excellent focus and depth of field, most beautiful details and colors. Thanks for sharing and best wishes for the contest.

Thank you so very much! Yes I started with the flower b/w but it looked better as is. Don't forget to vote!

Wonderful detail. The swallowtail is one of the more common butterflies where I live. The only one that have held still long enough for a shot have always been sitting on something really ugly. The b&w background helps to add color to the insect. Composed & focused nicely!

This is the contest entry for which I almost voted. It was really an incredibly hard choice to make!

The butterfly is sharp against the monochrome background, which was a great way to make it stand out. The soft focus on the clover blossom creates an effect of soft luminescence.

I also like the angle, which illustrates the wind's effect on this large-winged insect. Good job getting it so sharply in focus with the wind blowing, by the way.

nice work here it works nicely with the black and white background, you still have the background but it does not over power the main part of the pic, which is greatly captured nice work
