A pretty good looking image posted here! Your fine and appropriate composition grants us an enjoyable view at your bug. The soft and gentle tones are enjoyable. Well created and good luck.

Well I think you did good, it does look like a butterfly or a shadfly, they come from the water and are pretty, they dont bite and only live a short time just to mate and die, hopefully in the water as they lay there eggs, love the markings that you did recollect and those wings, spread out and lovely

Appears to be some sort of moth. And a good looking one too.

Your pastels are extremely effective here. Like a scene out of a picture book to teach people the value of little things.

Beautiful image Cleo...

What a nice painting in the memory of a mystery bug, that is hopefully recovered from its injury. The coloring on the bug is nicely surrounded with the lush green foliage and hint of colors.

It's a beautiful bug indeed, I love the terra cotta color and am impressed by the way you show the texture of its wings, it has a nice orange colored body with black stripes and I like it's antennas. This mystery bug is nicely placed without n this scene and on the pretty green leaves. Well created, arranged and presented!

It is definitely some type of moth, you have done a beautiful job of portraying it. i love it's color and the softness of the wings. The backlit leaves frame it very well as it prepares to take flight. I can see why it won first place, congrats!

I missed this one! Really nice brush strokes, they add a gossamer feel to the wings and folilage, and I like your colors as well, very natural for sun shining through the green leaves and trees. Nice composition, as your bug tries to escape the frame at upper left! Donkeyoatey
