Focus is crisp.
Clarity is clear.
Color tones are true.
Good composition with the canoe and the curve of the water pulling the viewer into the frame.

The photo is very clear. Nice shot. This would not be my choice for the contest though. You really have to look for the green, the water draws your eye more. A great idea would have to been able to catch the boat closer to the grass and woodsline.

This is sweet. It follows photojournalism rules with your subject appearing to move forward toward the camera without looking into it. There is a sense of movement and beauty. It follows the rule of thirds and also exudes quiet beauty.

I hadn't even noticed the House in the background at first glance! I like the water movement, especially the wake behind the boat. I also like the nice and natural touch of green on the left. I did deduct some, for the blowout, or over brightness just above the fishermen, my I kept being pulled away from the focus of the fishermen, and up towards that spot. Luckily, it is an easy thing to fix. I really like the overall feel of the shot, and the serenity it exudes. Donkeyoatey

this is a very pretty pic...not usually a fan of centered subjects, probably would have cropped it different myself, but in this case it probably works fine...good color and use of light

nice pic , contrast good like the green trees in the back ground set off by the river and the person in the boat clear and sharp.

I like the idea here, and the boater holds a lot of interest. Just wish he was either larger to serve as a stronger focal point, or further back and left on the river to give perspective to the river. The lighting is also dark in the trees losing much of the detail.

Relaxing image. The overall image, for me, contains a bit too much contrast. This is a most difficult capture in that you are shooting into the sun and the shadow detail (recovered through post-processing) in the trees is lost. To help improve this, I would make a tighter crop on the boat and remove much of the clipped sky. Just a thought. /john

thank you and well said but many one said sky is nice many said to remove it, i'm really confused.wide cause i wanted to make a feel like the boatman is lost but that also increased errors, many said subject is in center- "thats nice" many said "thats wrong".it's very much confusing.

A few things. Photography is art and art is subjective. To me, there is no 'right' or 'wrong'. This is your work and your expression. In terms of what looks good to one person may well not be good to someone else. As for the sky, often the rule is that a cloudless sky is to be avoided. In your case, the sky has fooled the camera into over compensating and resulted in an under exposed image. There is also a rule of thirds that you may have read about. This means to not cut the horizon through the center of the frame. In your case, I would have cropped the top more (thus moving the horizon higher) - the boat would remain the same size, but there would be less contrast between the sky and the trees. Also, if you have access to Photoshop or the like, you could increase the shadow detail of the tree line to bring out more interst in the detail. These are just some thoughts - there are many more. /john

Photographers, like fishermen, are always looking for the best spot. Love the grass on the left. Might have put the fisherman somewhere besides the dead centre of the pic though. Thanks for sharing. Cyn
