This shot worth the trouble of waiting that much and being patient to capture a good moment.. The sight of this heron's wings spread to fly away is amazing and you captured it very well.. I also like the background view of calm lake and greenery.. Overall a very good composition..

This contest has some wonderful photographs, probably the best I have seen. However I would place this in the top 2, so you have a great chance I think. Fantastic focus, and wonderful action. Good action capture my friend, if this were me the entire photo would be out of focus, you managed this well. Effective cropping surrounds this nicely colored image, it rendered very natural. The action in this is just stunning and easy on the eyes, well done work.

Patience is a virtue. Your wait paid off. This is a wonderful photo. I love his open wings, and how he still has one leg still on the stump. His neck feathers blowing in the wind. Great capture with good lighting, focus, clarity and action. Nice job.
