I find the emotion in this lovely and moving. The composition and coloring are very eye catching and a reaches out and touches the heart of the viewer. When art does that it is very good. DonkeyOatey

Sorry it took so long to respond to your fantastic review and rating. You have no idea how much these words mean to me. When I painted his I had been going through some personal issues and it had really been getting to me how this world just seems to be more and more about violence and not caring about others. Guess that's where this painting came from.
Again thank you my friend this really means a lot and not just the rating

Our art often reflects what our life is doing..that makes it a great outlet, and also, inspired..art after all..comes from emotion! Donkeyoatey

Amen! You said a mouth full with this picture and with your words! There is some that have not forgotten what our Father has done for us but you have alot that has never been taught! When you have people go to church giving God the glory and scream out hallelujah but step out the church doors talking about people that would scare people away from church and think if this is how it's going to be then I will stay home!
As children of God we got to work with ourselves before we go out to preach the word then after we work on ourselves then go out with the word before it's too late!
I love this picture, you have great color!
Awesome job!

I agree completely with you Jerrid. I use to attend church on a regular basis and even taught Sunday school to teenagers, but my view of the church has changed. I don't attend church anymore and I think there is a big line between Christianity and religion. Religion is what has caused so many wars and fights, its Christianity and love, no mater what your view is that gets us through.
Thank you so much for the review and rating

The composition is technically great. It tells a thought provoking story and could be very contraversial.
What exactly has our Father done for us that we are supposed to remember?
Does he stop the horrible acts of child abuse, muggings, school yard bulling, children killing children, mothers killing their own children, senseless crimes and so on?
Not all people have a kind and loving father who has done anything good or nice for them at all. Some have a father who did not even want them and threw them out of the house.
When you understand that you might understand why many do not believe in a loving Father.
What kind of Father would allow his own innocent child to be brutally murdered if he could do something to stop it?
Think about that.

I myself really don't need to think about it ,I lived it. I had an extremely abusive father whose idea of love was a belt across my back and other unspeakable things that I won't mention here. when he died I didn't shed a tear. it took me a long time to understand that my earthy father was a man with sick mind and a troubled man himself, I couldn't conceive of a heavenly father being kind and loving, but as I grew I now know that our father in heaven is the father we are all meant to have. As you said this is something that has been in debates for centuries, why did God allow his own son to suffer such cruelty if he loved him. My answer is, because he loved US that much and Christ being his son could have rejected his sacrifice for us at anytime, but chose it and gave his life for us because he thought that somewhere in our hearts we were worth saving. What greater love is there than that? as the bibl saysno greater love hath a man than he lay down his life for his brother. We here on this earth have forgotten how to use our hands to help and comfort instead of smack, steal, or abuse. I have learned that I am so blessed to have a loving father in heaven and feel sorrow for my earthly father and have learned to forgive him for his cruelty.
and to answer why God doesn't stop the unspeakable acts today, He gave us all Free Will, if he chose to stop my father from imposing his will onto me than God would be a dictator which he isn't. So the acts of all selfish and cruel men come from within themselves not from God, that's why he cries..
okay there's my two cents LOL
    thanks for the review Skyangel

I think many human just forgot humanity, what ever religion they follow; but fortunately there are some people left to remind us of it. Artists as you for example. The concept is excellent. It is as if the tears fall on earth as life spending rain to grow the seeds of humanity again.
I do not know what is happen to your painting, but the face seems blurred, other than in your usual detailed style.

I noticed the blurring when I viewed it on this site, It isn't blurred in the original, can't figure out why. maybe I have the resolution set too high.
thanks for the review and your take on this painting Cleo

No it dos not look like a to high solution. That wouldn't blur. It looks to me as if the solution of painting and background dos not match. They should have the same solution. for paintings I use usually 400 dpi [dots per inch = pixels per inch] That translates for an 10x10 inch print size to 4000 x 4000 pixels. Photos on line have usually not more than 72 dpi often less. If that happens the background photo or the painting need to be rezised to the dpi before the two are combined. I prefer to work with the higher dpi since it gives a much better print quality, but a resizing to the smaller dpi is possible as well. Important is that the dpi of all components is the same.

What did you do? The hair changed; but the face is still the same blur. Now with the exchanged hair the blur is even more reconizable. That blur seems emphasized be the hair. Sorry.

Well, maybe I am wrong. I write how I see it, but that dos not mean that I am right with it. LOL

I don't know why they keep removing your posts from my messages. This is an exceptionally touching picture which depicts what is going on in the world. How sad Jesus is viewing our planet's situation.
