The Grampians are a lovely place to visit. The rugged textures of the mountains contrasting with the green foliage is interesting and I like the centered purple blooms. Is it a wild wisteria?

gorgeous scene with such an array of beautiful color and amazing textures. Good job on the framing with the pretty shrub surrounded by the harsher rocks. Focus is sharp and techs are well executed. Very impressive shooting.

The purple does give a a little more color to the photo. Being right in the center, I have a hard time viewing the rocks on the side. There sure is a lot of different texture in the rocks. The green sure helps to make the purple stand out very nicely.

At first I thought this isn't Scotland, as there is a range of mountains there called the Grampians. Super textures here in the rocks and the flower is beautiful and adds color to an otherwise dullish shot, making it a winner, well done

Very pretty image which is made so by the lavender flowers growing out in the middle of nowhere! Without those the image would still be pleasant enough, but they do tend to draw the eye into the frame and also add more colour to the image. Well framed with good focus showing the cragginess of the rocks/mountains. Lovely blue sky also enhances the image.

Mary, really lovely sending us an immediate message of the beauty that abounds in nature.

This is a landscape image of intimacy. It is large yet quietly intimate bringing the viewer into the frame by the use of visual photographic elements of line, texture, shape and design.

Interest has been added with a plop of purple hued flowers smack in the center but hugged by protective rocky mounds....which incidentally add to the image's strength through their patterns and textures.

Mary, in order for a photographer to be able to see such beauty tells us something about the photographer..... that you savour life at 1/160th of a second! It is an artist image for you felt an emotion upon looking at this scene and you have transferred your creativity to us to savour the emotion as well....and we do.

Your dramatic angle to this shot of giving it regal dignity of looking up, plus add the colour of nobility (yes that is what purple symbolizes) and you have a strong image formatted into horizontal frame that further enhances the grandeur. This is an image not taken, but made.

Ambient light is perfect. Contrast is also perfect as is the colour saturation. Technically it is a strong image.

Lines which act as visual pathways within this shot are many. From the sharp hard rock pointing us in or to the dark looming shape at the right to hold us in, the visual elements of line work nicely.

Focal points or visual rest stops are many from the obvious (purple flowers) to the secondary players (rocks, textured bushes and grasses) all add to help bounce our eyes and provide a visual dance of delight.

A bright and colourful image provides us with a mood, that mood for me is happiness.

Thank you Mary , you have made me a touch happier through your artistry.

OK OK OK I know you are dying for some constructive criticism....sorry to disappoint you....not a thing, don't touch it, just sign it!

You managed to find lovely foreground interest. I think placing it so centrally in the frame has flattened impact of the image. Thanks for sharing your work.
