Great capture Willie! Not sure if I am imagining things but it sure looks like there is a baby bird nestled between those wings, is that possible?? All techs look great, thanks for sharing.

Great capture and your wait was so worth it. The drama of survival is all around us every day. I hate to mention that my puffer fish caught a smaller fish that I placed in her tank while I was moving tanks around. I wanted her to spit it out, but that clearly wasn't happening. Gorgeous! Love the colors here! Perfect capture with the wings spread as he is about to fly, details are great, the reflection of color in the water is a nice touch to make the heron stand out strong. Great catch

Ah, yes, the circle of life. What a fantastic capture! I have such admiration for the patience of wildlife photographers for this reason; as you said, you had to wait a long time. But the result appears worth it. Great composition, framing. Colors are perfect, as is the focus. The wood he was obviously perched on adds interest. Love the greenish tint to the water, which I'm guessing might come from the reflection of trees. But your subject is magnificent, especially with his catch and that wing span. Nice work!
