Great shot! Yes, it takes hours to get this. I learned that the Great Blue coils his neck so that when he sees a fish, his head, neck and bill act like a harpoon in the water. It is super fast. So I know what it took to get this. Fabulous exposure. Your stop action is great. Nice details down to his legs. Great work!

Wonderful stop action capture of this predator in his natural environment. Focus, colors and contrast are all outstanding. The composition is very well done with the placement of the bird in the frame and the tree stump in the lower left corner for texture and interest.

A great shot that you captures and your patience paid off big time in this photo. You captured the heron taking off right after it made its catch. Nice reflections in the water and the splash of its running take off. A beautiful photo and I wish I had a six left to give you for it. Excellent entry for the contest.
