I'd give this one six stars if I had more. Absolutely stunning. I don't remember seeing a better shot of a Cardinal in recent years. Lovely composition and framing. Super sharp and balanced. Definitely should be published in Audubon and used in a variety of ways. It's rare to get the perfect catch with birds, and this one is perfect.

I love the bright red colors of the cardinal and the details around the face that you captured. The facial area is so crisp in detail. For a tradition photograph this is very nice. If you consider mixed media maybe play around with darkening the brown in the pine branch and maybe some of the green in the pine needles that are in focus to add a little pop of vivid color to complement the cardinal and drive home those Christmas colors. Very nice photograph.

This photo has very crisp detail and great depth of field. I like that the subject is centered in the frame. I think that the limb leading out of the left side of pic helps to draw viewer in.
