This bird is just so cheerful! Beautiful bright red feathers with black markings on the head. Not sure what part of the world these come from but definitely do not live in the UK! The bird in this shot is obviously the star of the show and you have captured him very well. Focus is very good. I like the background too which compliments the subject. Most of the foliage is blurred but some is not and I like the contrast between the two. The stem the bird is perched on sits well within the frame and has interesting textures.

Beautiful photo. Great colors. Focus and ODF are excellent. Along with lighting and the contrast. How did you manage to get a Cardinal to pose for you in a pine? Again, a great photo.

Great colors of Christmas and the season. The white pine needles over the Cardinal are terrific. Great color and detail with super focus. A real pretty shot.

This is a lovely photo of a red Cardinal. With the pines in the background this is for sure a theme for a Christmas card. The bird is standing out nicely against the lovely background.

Your photo of this bird is nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details, and especially the eye is well captured. The exposure is perfect and the colors are nice and natural.

The bird is well placed within the frame and together with a neat cropping, this makes for a nice composition. It is a good balance and an excellent DOFF in this image, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Exceptional. What a clear and close-up shot of this cardinal.

Colors are superb as is your depth. I like the blurred focus on the back right.

Good use of thirds.

Nice job!

Wonderful focus and detail on the eye and the feathers. The background is perfectly blurred and the branch and surrounding pine needles look great. Nicely framed and presented.

This is a very pretty little bird. The bird is perfectly focused. The photo is well composed. I like the blurred background. The colors are definitely xmassy. I think it would look gorgeous in a painted version and it would lovely on a xmas card. I would buy a card with this picture on it. Lovely work.

The adjective you used to describe this Christmas Cardinal (pretty) is SPECTACULAR! You compose all elements masterfully! If I may note, since this is not our first interaction where reviews are concerned, something I believe about the adjectives we use and are prone to use, based on how each of us are acculturated, ESPECIALLY the adjectives we use to refer to and describe people. First, let me say that my honey and I each appreciates this male species of bird and for a number of reasons, in our cultures, the Christmas Cardinal symbolizes hope for the brothers in our ethnic group. Back to adjectives, a word I witnessed you wrote today in a comment to refer to and describe a sister in our ethnic group as (old) to describe the noun, girl, socially unacceptable adjectives and nouns to describe a human being well past girlhood and is now an elderly woman who deserves respect, especially a woman of color given her history in this country.

Thank you so very much! I would rather be called old than elderly! I did not mean any disrespect it is just my terminology.
