this painting has the potential for so much more in the way of art, yet the rare essence of in the image works as a pleasant statement of soft emotions. i do see and feel the natural look of the flowers, and how you composed a pleasant face from their shapes. the colors are very pastoral and soft adding to the overall quality of the design. nice work

The picture alone is a superb blending of soft flowers in delicate colors to depict this virginal lady and child. Although a homage to Ocampo, it has none of the aggressive aspects of his painting. The optical effects are greatly enhanced by the author's interesting and informative notes. A truly harmonious ensemble.

Thank you Don. I have used the style earlier in my folktale/fairytale pictures and those which refer to ancient myths. The mix of human with plants or animals is not new in art. Just think of Naiads and Dryads, Mermaids and Satyrs, Fairies or in the darker part Medusa and Dracula. Many artists from the earliest cave paintings to modern contemporary artists have left works to us about the thematic. [Greek/Roman, Arcimboldi, Bosh, the Surrealists, just to call a few]
