Oh Cleo this is stunning and digital art none the less, amazing! The details are outstanding with the gorgeous colors and the scene in the b.g. giving the digital art a true feel or realism. Magnificent wild horse! Love the whole scene!

Thank you very much! The horse was even more than magnificent. There is a whole herd of them in the area. Unfortunately I lost most of the pictures to the hurricanes.

Your welcome Cleo! Aww at least you still have your memories of the fabulous creatures and of course this work of art as well!

A really fine job. I like the way the horse's head is really crisp while the body has a wind blown effect, actually the way wild horses fur looks in winter when it grows longish. Bravo!

A super study with good colours tones and contrasts. It's good that the horse is looking back into the picture plane and that it's face contrasts so well with the neck. I like the painterly effect, it adds to the spirit of freedom that is part of the story of the horse. Well done!

Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging review.
It is a painting; done in about 60 hours with thousands of small brush strokes. The painterly appearance is not archived using filters or similar. :-)

I do not use either of thoise, so can not help you..sorry. Yes, nothing is as soul warming as free horses..or buffalo..they are magnificent! I like the textures on his coat..wild horses ARE shaggy at times, and you have captured it well! Donkeyoatey

    Thank you very much!
Ah, you remember the Buffalo. It was on the same trip. Three months traveling Wyoming and Montana including camp out so far as 10,000 feet high in the Bighorns. I would do the trip any time again!
I think I know what I did wrong. I probably added to much metallic color to get the light. It dos not shows in the original version, but resizing 4800x3200 at 400 ppi to 700 x 3240 will do it. I probably have to bring the ppi down too, but have to find out jet the right amount. Best is not to use as much metal. Well, out to learn again. :-)

Very nice picture color and blends are good. His face looks amazing and body lil blurry? Did you choose to do it this way? Still overall Nice job

Thank you very much for your honest review and your input. I see, you did not read my comments. I had trouble resizing this time, and ask for help in my comments. Paintings seem sometimes to react different to resizing than photos. Both of my programs did not work correctly what caused a general loss of detail. I have just to find out why that happened. It seems to have to do with the colors I used and the metal content in them; or/and size of 4800 x 3240 pixels at 400 ppi, but I am still searching. Do you have any explanation? I did not have this problem ever before.

This is such clever and talented digital art Cleo. I just love those colours and the differing tones that you've managed to get into the fine looking coat. A lovely composition too. I lived for many years near to Exmoor in Devon, England, where the Exmoor ponies run wild and free. They are a delight to see - as is your art work!
