Another first class piece of natural history Eileen.

Perfectly composed, the detail is superb as is the contrasts and light, beautiful image.

A 6 star shot, not available, sorry, great capture of this outstanding blue heron, you got the perfect angle and position showing his back side and his face, the water is wonderful blue due to the sky reflection and that are outstanding moments, the green grass is perfect to give you a harmonious green blue overall picture = you got the perfect perception seeing this blue gay in the same color environment, nice exposure, perfect contrast, perfect shot

And she is getting there!
E! The clarity is so much better on this tri colored heron! It could be sharper,,but this is the best so far! I sent you a re edit of this shot. So you understand what I mean here.
First, I would have cropped a wee bit more to the left and came down a wee bit on top. Then I would have smoothed out the top portion to make it less distracting.
Now..Look at your exposure..Should have been way higher. ISO is fine. This bird was always moving. Exposure needed to be WAY UP!
That is why his eye and head are not as sharp. It is a fine shot and one of your best so far.
Nice work!

Yes, I see that now. Will test out higher exposures this weekend at the renfest. I will make us both proud yet!

ok..Once you get your focus, use your left palm to as a tripod. rest your lens on it. if you keep it on the lens..you will get movement and up your exposure.

This is a very good shot of the heron with great clarity. Nicely composed with sharp focus and detail. The background looks weird. Blurry. What would cause that? Regardless, this is well done. Sam

Thanks Sam, perhaps some of the processing missed a bit. I'll look into the original.

Amazing color and amazing focus. Nice capture with great illumination to show off this nice color and detail of the feathers. Framed nicely with the green reeds.
