I am so glad you mentioned you made your own clip art..that is something I have been going to try when I had some time..I like the lonely, yet romantic beach, the colors and ther long ago, far away feel..just like neverland! Donkeyoatey

We all need something like that Somewhere-Nowhere-Neverland for recreation. Try to make your own clip art. It is easier then you may think. Silhouettes are the easiest to make, but always of impact if used in a mixed media. You probably have a color picker in your program, that's a tool you will use often. Easiest is to isolate true silhouettes and monochrome subjects. Use high contrast, than pic and save as layer to a canvas. Can you open MDI[Microsoft Digital Imaging]files, GIF or pcx[paintbrush?] ~cleo

A truly lovely idea Cleo and it is possible, at least for brief periods of time and that time may be enough to open our hearts and minds to different approaches to life.
Love the art work here with the birds and the couple walking along; the shore in a world that seems like ours but is slightly muted.

Thank you for your [again] thoughtful review. What I tried to say was that many of us have unlearned to use our natural senses and or imagination. If we can get this back we may live better in unison with our natural world and find better ways to approach or future. The dinosaurs would still roam, if the would have been better adaptable to nature, and just imagine nobody ever would have dreamed of the wheel before he invented it. :-)

oh wow Cleo this is wonderful , "A wonderful wonderland" its like the lyrics froma really early Beatle composition "there's a place I can go , when i feel low , when i feel blue , Its my mind and there's no time, when im alone , I think of you , the things you do , the things you say " and its so true where would we be if we couldnt escape occasionallyinto our imaginations

There you are, a true 60's fan. Beatles as well, I guess. I love the song. You are indeed the only one who found out about hidden meanings and that those pictures are all from the 60's series. Thank you!!!

The dark colors in the foreground highlighted by the background works very well! So does the silhouettes! Great work!

That reminds me the song, somewhere over the rainbow and I continue differently ... Where all is bluuuuuuueeeeeeeeeee = life is different and free, great combination of beings in a dreamland, your art is naturally coming out of the heart and that is present in all your work, wwll done

Thank you very much! I like your interpretation and the new song! I made it all blue because it is a dream. :-)

While this painting seems dynamic, it would be better without the Pelican in the foreground, which distracts from the people posed against the sunset(sunrise?). However, it reminds me of some of the paintings by Emil Nolde. Keep painting. You have the knack.

Thank you very much for your kind review. It is neither sunrise or sunset. As I wrote, this is a dream land [a kind of Neverland]. That is why it is painted only on shades of blue. Physical rules of the real world dos not exist there. The silhouettes including the pelican are put there by imagination and chance of the one who dreams, but is not in the picture. Everything is interchangeable in a matter of minutes in a dream. Why do you think the people should be the central point of interest; why not the pelican? Beside that. Imagine the pelican gone. What would be the point of interest or what should replace him? Because in my oppinion; with the pelican gone there would be nothing than emptiness and no point of interest.
It would be nice if you answer my questions because I am interested why a viewer comes to his/her oppinion as much as on the oppinion itself.

An artist is given free-reign of expression. Clearly, you have used yours. My comment about the pelican was well-meant.

I know its well meant. Thats not the point. I post not for stars, but try to find out WHY people react in a certain way to certain art. I know the pelican bothers you, but I cannot find out WHY. I understand its the point of view and conceotional; its an obvious different story. While the people are just ambiance for me, like the other bird; you want them in the center of interest. WHY?
Do you think people of more importance than everything else in there? If so, I would like to know why. Thank yo very much for the interesting discussion.
