I laughed about your story, and was way glad it was not BEARS dancing on the ceiling! LOL! I missed this one, and am sorry, they are really cute! We often gather acorns, and make "faces" with the grandkids, but I would never have thought of this! i think they are creative, cute, and well done! I think you should display them at the cabin! i am so glad you told me about this, it was fun to read the notes, and to review! They also might create a sensation..sort of like a "pet rock"..might be worth checking with some gift shops! Donkeyoatey

Sorry this reply is SO LATE! I just discovered it. Had to wait till the "blind contest" was over before I could tell you about these little guys. I thought you'd enjoy them and the story behind them. Glad I sent a smile your way. These guys NOW sit proudly in my brother and sister-in-laws Maine Cabin. Thank you for your wonderful review and comments. Glad you enjoyed! LOL :o) Helvi

These are very cute flies and I enjoyed reading your very long story, too ;) I love the expressions on the faces of these fellows, especially the eyes. Nice work! :)

Hi Kim, Thank you for the wonderful review for my little acorn flies. I know the story behind their creation was long LOL, but I thought people would enjoy the story. I'm glad you took the time to read it and enjoyed it. THanks

They are the cutest flies I have ever seen. I read your whole story and had a giggle about it. Five stars for the flies. The only thing you forgot is their third pair of legs but that's your artistic prerogative. If you photograph them again, may I suggest you put the curtain in the background all the way to the floor instead of half way down? It would look better than having the background cut in half. On the picture of the back of them, I think if you painted a picture of an audience and placed it in front of them, that would look really cute. What do you think?

Hi Sky, Sorry for being late with a reply I just saw your review. I Love your idea of painting an audience in front ( from the backside) of these little guys! LOL I don't know if I have the talent for that, but I LOVE the idea! LOL Glad you enjoyed the story and my artistic endeavor with this. When I first created this and took the picture I wasn't even thinking of FA. I think NOW I definitely would be, So I appreciate your thought about the curtain. Thanks for the Great review ! :o) Helvi

I really enjoyed viewing this and reading the artist notes. Very creative artwork and like the way you have presented it. The front view is well shown and the back view is amazing. Like the front and back view as both are different. Nice presentation

The story alone is worthy of a 5. I love how you managed to find some humour out of this situation and that it was an important time for you to do some healing. The little flies are great. This might be the only time I can say I like flies (no-one who lives in Australia can deny that they despise flies). Well done and thanks for taking the time to write your very entertaining story. These are so adorable! Really cute. The photo on the right is fantastic and the lighting in the photo really caught my eye. I just love the point of view also showing them from behind. Are you selling these guys?

Hi careydils,Thank you SO much for the wonderful review. I made these specifically for my brother and sister-in law so they're not for sale. I left the story behind the making of these in my notes. If you havent read it I think you'll enjoy it. It's ok if you don't though. Right now, I'm just pleased you liked them. Thanks again for the GREAT review! :o)

Holy Moly time sure FLIES when you are trying to relax!!! Omg! Ask Chickadee to compare vacation stories! We had a major power outage when she was here! 5 city blocks! Why? Ants! They took over a huge transformer on our property!
GOOD times! WE had fun anyway!
Helvi...sweet lady... there is much I have learned about your life here.. all I can tell you is ... you have survived it all and still manage to be sweet and kind... look up Dear Helvi!
A five for your story and your acorn buddies!
At least you all had a good laugh!
