This photograph has momentum to it, I think it is a good thing you didn't change your lens. The focus is incredible. Love the stretch of the neck and the extension of the wings. The water surface is really beautiful. Very nice photograph.

Nice capture and it is detailed, and colored just in the right spots. No real loss to movement and the spontanious shot had a great effect on the picture.

Congratulations. This is one of the most spectacular nature photos that I have seen recently. The color harmonies make this photo a gem, and the sharp image completes the picture capture. I wish I could give a higher award but I'm limited to only five stars.

A great capture of the Heron in flight, ,they sure can move fast and don't seem to be afraid of humans. Love the blurred green water in the b/g, great stop action and sharp focus. excellent techs:)

Possibly the closest close-up I have seen on FAR on this beautiful bird. Very difficult shot to capture so very well done. I actually like the position within the frame. You can see the head and neck very clearly, plus most of the wings too. Beautiful colours in this bird. The water is a gorgeous colour too and this works very well enhancing the overall shot. Good Luck in the contest.

What an amazing capture. I've tried many times just to get close enough to see one less than half a mile away, they are so galldarn skittish it's easy to disturb them! But I gotta say, the colours you captured here are heavenly. Against that calm green water, makes a lovely frame - This is superb! lucky you!
