Great capture of the heron. Patience is always a test of time when it comes to birds. Love the reflection on the water from the fishermen in the boat. Love that you were able to catch the raindrops on the water. Nicely done.

lovely clarity on the heron, very nice lighting - I love a rainy day for photos - like a huge softbox. Gorgeous green and nice reflection of yellow from the fisherman on the water.

This has got to be the winner for this contest. A great photo of the fishermen and the heron, all of them waiting to catch a fish! I like how the yellow raincoat reflects across the water from one side to the other. The raindrops on the water surface clearly shows the rainy day conditions. The heron makes this photo for me. Excellent capture and good luck in the contest.

A shot well worth the wait. I like the focus being on the heron ( I think he/she is fishing also). The reflections on the water, Wow. The raindrops hitting the water, everything shows the determination of catching that fish, even if weather is bad. Well done!

It is a nice capture of the heron on the stump watching for his catch. I have witnessed a heron standing on a wall like this, take off and grab a fish about 50' away. I really like your focus on the heron and the rain hitting the water but as a suggestion, if you ever see this shot again, wait for the boat to leave out of the frame. The reflections of the two fishermen is very distracting looking straight at the heron. Thanks for sharing

Thank you so very much! The point of this shot was to include the boat.

Seem that both parties went out fishing in a rainy day - great capture of a special combination - men and bird behind the same objective - great frame - good focus - nice content - great contrast - perfect angle and position , very nice picture with a special lighting and reflection in the waters - all the best

Great shot of the way animals and people have come to be so accepting of each other in this day and age. I might have tried squatting down and moving to the left to place the heron more off-center to the right and bring it's head a bit closer to the boat. This might give the picture somewhat better composition. And then I'd crop off a bit of water below the heron to bring it even more into the foreground. It's a fun shot to mull over possible vantage points on a subject and cropping possibilities.
