I love the Fairy Tale and i love your painting Cleo.
The Snow Queen is beautiful and glimmers against the background.
I also love the sense of movement in the background. Beautifully done.
Alas I find FAR will not allow me to give you a 6. Really want to, very lovely work.Bren

Beautifully haunting use of shading in this piece. I'd have liked slightly more detail in the large figures face but that's just my taste. The blending of the greys is stunning and the bit of red in the ladies dress really brings out the contrasts. Amazing!!

Thank you very much for your kind review and your input The splash of red is Gerda, the heroine of the story. She is in full color because she is the only one with warm blood and feelings in this cold world of ice and snow.

Lovely black and white with that one spot of color, so small but so bold, in the corner. You have created a wonderful impression of snow and ice here, with lovely drawing on the characters. Lovely work.

Thank you very much for your kind review. The splash of red is Gerda. She is in full color because she is the only on capable of emotion and able to love in this cold world of ice and snow.

This just caught my eye, it's really beautifully done! Would make a grand illustration for the story (or any similar work) I often find the stories read better when the art work is like this. Gives it substance and lots of mysterious effects to jazz it up! Really nice work.

I see that I am still not allowed to give you six stars yet. I am impressed by your background, has an amazing depth and just enough color to give the feel of cold and snow and still seen magical. I like that you've left one girl in color. The scene seems too move and waver like the northern lights. DonkeyOatey

Thank you. You are the only one who picked up on the move and waver. I used the same brush strokes for it as I did in Northern Lights. The girl is Gerda. She is in full color because she is the only one capable of feeling emotion and love in this frozen world.

i get a feel for tall and grand at the same time with small people trying to gather their thoughts from the cold rain, while a white priness watches silently in a see through gown. the dark and light contrast is very nice, and works to show depth and dimension through the girl in the red dress. very strong statement in story telling. thanks for sharing.

Hauntingly excellent or should that be excellently haunting! Whatever, this is amazing and the dash of red on the bottom right hints at some influence from Turner's 'Seascape a buoy'. If you aren't aware of what I mean, google the story of the painting and see! :) R

Thank you, I appreciate your review very much and I am honored by your thought about W. Turner. At the moment I do not recall Seascape a buoy, but I remember Coal by Night with a splash of red in the lower right and a couple other seascapes were the red splash is the low sun, so I think I know what you mean.
Truth it may works similar to the viewer and red always draws the eyes; in my picture that splash has several purpose. The splash is a girl, Gerda the heroine of Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen [Snedronningen]. She is in full color; because she is the only one with warm blood and Emotion in this cold world of snow and ice. She is the only one able to love.[Red for love and blood, blond/gold for the sun.] The boy, Kay is already as cold as the Queen and has the monochromatic of the her icy world.

Excellent job. Love the flowing ice Queen. The background slashes of white translate sharp, biting cold. Good idea to add a point of color at the bottom.

The splash of color is actually Gerda, the heroine of the fairy tale. She is in full color, because she is the only one, who has warm blood and emotion. She is the only one able to love in this cold world of snow and ice. [Red for love and blood, blond [gold] for the sun.
