John, you are too kind. Now go and get some food. Lol

You have successfully turned a dying image into a work of art. You already know my penchant for decaying life, of nature or man made, and this fits the bill. The colours and tones have become really muted and the mutiple layers you have added in Topaz have turned the whole thing to look like a pastel painting. Really well done.

I like that you are FINALLY taking your time with your posts. Taking the time to edit your work yo make it wall hanging worthy.
love the lighting, soft pastels and how you made this "ugly duckling"
A "swan" .. a rose is just a rose indeed! Well done E!

Very nice composition.. feels like pastels.. soft, and very well blended.
Love the touch of pink throughout the flower.. the graceful direction that each petal has moving diagonally across the frame. I love the gentle touch of light on some of the petals that add depth to them. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful composition!

Remarkable image! I really apprciate the wonderful framing of the red in the corner.
The focus is plesantly soft and pedals of the "old rose" look soft and smooth.
Very nice shadow work also.

Great job!

Very nice. I love everything about this. Great composition, unique perspective on an overshot subject, subtle, great lighting, and no outlandish colors or editing. One of my favorites. Great job!

YOu have made beauty out of what most would consider ugliness. I think this is fabulous. The soft pastels are very appealing. The diagonal composition of course I love. I could see this used with less opacity as the background for notepaper to write love letters on! :)

Gosh, even though it is on its last leg of life, this rose is beautiful, you've done a terrific job with this one. I love the colors and the petals are clear and very pretty!

Yes, the petals do look blighted and the shot id focused but I cannot understand why this merits a photo. It seems like a textbook illustration.
