Outstanding placement of these two juvenile pelicans! The diagonal of both bills is superb! Great eye!
Your shot is fabulous despite the wrong time of day to go shooting.
The shade provided you with no blow out on both and great rays shining through.
Nice work E!

A great clean shot with really good framing and composition. The lining up of the beaks to create a diagonal through the whole frame is really well composed. The lighting is nice and soft and the islolation with a dark background works really well. A great shot.

Again, looks like you did not take my advise on the mid day sub but still managed to come out with a winner. See how much I know.
What makes this image is the straight line of the two bills. Nice sharpness and in this case, the black background does work. Good color, like the subtle yellows. Composition is great.
Perhaps the back on the lower pelican is a bit too bright but within the criteria of acceptance.
Here you have to prove me wrong from the previous review. Would have given you a 5.5 if the stupid site was not so stupid. Very nice image.

Thanks for your review Charles. It was my sisters birthday and I promised to take her out shooting. It was the only bright day we've had in a while with all the rain. I won't post the really bad ones. Lol

Well, you did well with this one.

What a great portrait! Both pelicans have the same pose and with one above the other really makes the photo. The lighting is just right as well.

Fun Photo, Eileen. I really like your story too. I can picture them making their mischief. Good focus, appropriate light, good contrast. cainse

Wonderful photo of these pelicans! Very good photography and focus with colour, lighting and the shadows on them. Well done! Eileen, I notice lots of photographers on FAR put black back grounds behind their subjects. It it something you do when post editing and do you need special editing tools to do that?

Yes, when the backgrounds tend to overtake the photo, I like to rid myself of it. I use post processing program called Photoshop Elements. Has a bit of a learning curve but not very pricey. Thanks so much for the review!
