Oh this is just charming Suzanne! It takes me back to childhood beach holidays and evokes happy memories. I just love that pop of red from the little dinghy. Lovely work!

Beautiful seascape, with nice color and contrast, great shading, and nice motion of the wave. I love the little red boat in the sand and the grass on foreground. Well done.

Was this a plein air rendering.? You seem to be specializing in seascapes. I find them charming. I have never tried watermixed oils! Sounds exciting. Will check out availability in my country. I love this work for its balance and natural colours. Thanks for sharing!

Many thanks for your very nice review. This was actually from a photograph but I've visited Flamborough many times as we used to live quite near. Try the water mixable oils - I think you might like them. Suzanne

Very nice topic and good explanation, we never stop learn - great representation of this spot on earth - amazing arrangement in your frame - great color harmony - super composition with the red boat up front - the white rocks are handsome - your shadow and light application is perfect to create the three dimensional effects - lots of detail work on the waters - earth formations and sky - it shows that you love this place and that you loved to create this paining, well done

Not a place I am familiar with. But I have lived near water or some kind of other for most of my life. Looks to me like the White Cliffs on Dover. I do not known their every rock face but living in Kent for many years, I am familiar with them in general. The painting would be scenic without the boat but I do believe that adds to the composition. It provides foreground interest and also more colour. Textures are good in this picture too. A pleasure to view.

Many thanks for your very nice review. I'm glad you like this. Flamborough is a lovely place - we used to live in Bridlington, which is about 4 miles away, so often took a picnic to Flamborough. Suzanne

I am giving you a 6 for this as I love the painting. I certainly feel the roughness of the sea. I bet there were some ship wrecks over the years. Your idea to put a red boat in is great and just bounces off the greenness of the cliffs. very good distance that takes the eye right out to sea. Love it.

Nice tonal quality to this composition which is very appealing. The red boat is a great focal point which leads my eye to the beautiful ocean. Great job!
