Wow! That is a lot of smoke going up there and when one sees in contrast with the skyline it is shocking! Nice composition and story line, nice focus giving good detail, good colours and nice depth. Nice camera work. Well done.

Very effective journalistic image, this has huge impact on the viewer. It is hard to believe that in this day in age we still burn natural resources like there is no tomorrow.
This site is wild, that last image I reviewed was a set of wind turbines in Palm Springs . Today we went from one extreme to another

Fred,
An image of Hell fires burning as "Mankind" busily does his best to destroy to beauty of Creation.Yet apart from the Fires of Hell, you have captured the beauty of the colours reflected on the water's surface in shades of turquoise & gold behind the silhouetted buildings & trees in the foreground. Above the sky behind the plumes of black smog the sky its gold yellow & the filtered sunlight is catching the steel towers of the Refinery. Artistic composition superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

What can I say, an eerily "scenic" photo, like an industrial war zone wreaking havoc on the atmosphere (cough, cough). Good detail on the billowing smoke (where's my respirator?), and silhouetted foreground to hide the pollution coated vegetation. Soon as I catch my breath,I'll upload this convincing expose.

Boy that is disgusting. An amazing capture of this. One can only wonder what it leaves in the air once the cloud dissipates. I thought traveling through New Jersey in the 80's was bad.
