very pretty I can almost hear the water crashing as it is coming in the color tones in your painting are very nice as they blend well thansk for sharing

Love the blue colors in this painting. The way you have included the aqua in the curl of the wave is perfect along with the slight purple in the wash back part of the water just off the beach.
Wonderful framing with the rock.

Beautiful painting once again Suzanne with a wonderful capture of these waves. The ebb and flow and the tidal build up of the big wave is so real. The blues and greens and the white foam of the breakers is masterfully rendered and the little rock in the foreground just adds a perfect touch to this fabulous seascape. Super well done, from one who knows the difficulties involved in creating wave paintings!

Beautiful painting once again Suzanne with a wonderful capture of these waves. The ebb and flow and the tidal build up of the big wave is so real. I have just taken the liberty to read the reviews on your work and honestly Suzanne, I was gob smacked with that review. All I can say is "what rubbish" take no notice. Someone new on the site, a photographer with as yet no ranking, it's almost funny really. I had the same thing happen to me, may have been the same person, I'll check. Your work is awesome don't take negative comments on board,particularly from a novice photographer, that is not the purpose of this site . Suzanne, lucky you to be able to visit NZ, it is such a picturesque and clean country.
This is quite the dynamic painting and I bet you had fun painting it. Your strokes manipulated in many directions create movement and your differentiation of blue hues give quite a bit of depth to the art.
You caught our eyes with a focal pop of that rock and we are quickly swept into the mid section of your painting with waves and foam.
The roar of the surf coming up is very realistic I especially like the way you handled the heaviness of the wave, we feel it's power and that is all thanks to those heavy greenish lines leading up to the curl of the wave.
You've included everything our eyes love. Lines horizontal and vertical, shapes not only in waves but in rocks, patterns in those bubbles (or rather foam) and I love the attention to detail you have, especially in the spray effect tiny touches of froth escaping from the main wave.
Sometimes when we look at paintings we can hear them as well as see them...this is an image we can hear.
I feel the sincerity of your art, it is powerful and it comes across to us because of your skill as an artist.

Thank you so much for your lovely in depth review. Yes, NZ is a beautiful country and wonderful for artists because of its fantastic light which heightens all colours. Sadly my daughter now lives in Australia so I won't be able to visit NZ any more but I was lucky to have spent many visits there over the years.

Thank you for your review. I'm not sure what you mean. I think maybe you review from a photographer's eye and not an artist as you always knock marks off my work. The black is not actually black - it's a small rock of different colours. Suzanne

Nice image, I like the feel of the water, bubbling, moving, always busy. There is a nice emotional moving feeling that goes with this peace. There are a lot of beaches in N.Z. with no one on them. Good job.
