Seems to me that your trip has proven great in more than one way. Not only did you get to get a way from it all for a while to cool your heels and just have a little fun. But you have had the photography holiday of the year while you were on this vacation. I don't think you could have had such a great time if you had planned a head for all the beautiful shots to be in place. You were definitely being smiled upon on this trip. I really love that you took this shot with all the people around because it does actually show the size of the geyser and all the excitement the people have at seeing it erupt. This is truly an amazing shot. Your focus and clarity are so very good. The deep DOF is amazing in that you get quality focus throughout the photograph with just minor haze in the far off distance which is actually caused by the distance and not a photographic error. That two tone blue sky is amazing. You did a fantastic job.

A brilliant picture of Storkkur caught at the height of it's eruption. Beautiful composition & lighting superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus. I wish I had another six for you.

Excellent capture of the Strokkur Geysir as it gushes that pressurized water high up in the air.
The inclusion of people lining up is a wise technique to show size comparison in relation to the height of the water that dwarf them all!
Thanks for sharing!

A Geysir is an impressive sight, but some times you have to wait for ages before it erupts. I was almost freezing my hands off while waiting for this too happen, but I got it in the end. I was however not as lucky as you with the weather, so my photos don't have the same lovely blue background as in your photo.

This is a nice and sharp shot with good details, and since there are people in this photo, it is easy to see the size of the Geysir. The exposure is very good and so are the colors.

I think this photo is cropped down to a good format and with the Geysir off to the left. Well taken photo with a very good DOFF.

    thanks a lot Annie for your great comments; out of the camera as usual; this geyser blows every 5-10 minutes; of course I lost the first eruption since it lasts about 2 secods; they I put my camera on 12 pics/second, with my finger on the shutter, so I got 10 excellent pics;

    The same thing happened to me, so I was just standing tere in the cold wind waiting for the eruption. I thought it took forever. LOL

I had not heard of this geyser before. It is beautiful spouting water and steam against the blue sky. You have done well with the rule of three here and of course there is great DOF. The people add interest and show the perspective as to the size of the geyser.

this is a great photo of the Geyser in Strokkur. It looks like a very remote area surrounding it. It makes me think of Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park. It's amazing how this continues to erupt throughout the years. Nice story and interest. Thanks for sharing.
