This is a great shot of the waterfront. Great detail, in a perfect composition. I am not too experienced with HDR, but find that the shots I've seen on this site using Topaz seem to have overcooked, almost cartoonish colors (especially the blues and reds).

Thank you so very much! There is a lot of different options with Topaz and a cartoon look is one of them. I don't like that look but the detail adjustment really is a great program. It takes time and experience to get it right. The photomatrix program is altogether different. It is going to take some getting used to on my part!

Great Lines Willie! I really like this Point of View. The railing and the structures point right to that perfect sky.

Great exposure control and the patchwork bricks add a lot of interest to the image.

nice!

Thank you so very much! I do wish there had been some white clouds that day but at least it was a pretty clear day!

This is very beautiful. Love the flow of this picture. Textures of the brick work are really cool. Colors are spot on. I think this would make a great post card. Good luck in your adventure and thanks for sharing.

This is well captured. A very sharp image, with clarity of textures, colors, and architectural designs. I also like your composition, especially the inclusion of that green roof structure at the back. The prominence of reflections and details of the brick foreground is impressive.Indeed, a pleasant, tranquil sight.

Well I can only guess at what tone mapping is but whatever it is, to me it gave an artistic feel to the picture. I had to look to see it was not a painting. hope that was the effect you wanted. well done

Thank you so very much! Yes the painted look is what photomatrix does.

I think the river front looks great, and this photo was taken on such a nice day as well. As far as I can judge the use of Photomatix went all fine, but you do have the option to reduce saturation when you are using it, and in this case I think I would have because the blues are a bit too strong. Still I am the first to admit that this is very much a matter of taste.

The only thing really wrong with this photo is that everything is tilting to the left, and your photo therefore needs to be straightened. Your focus is however nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details all over, and the exposure is perfect.

Because of your very good POV it is very good leading lines in this photo bringing the viewer right into the composition. I think this is a really well taken shot with an excellent DOFF, and I honestly think you have used your new editing tool really well. I have taken half off for the very squint photo, but will put it back when the photo is straightened.

I always check for straightness! I was so into the new program that I forgot to check. I have been looking forward to your response to this and as usual I appreciate your comments, your criticism and praise.
I have been having trouble with the adjustments in photomatrix. This was done with the default setting. I just need more practice and a little help from my friends! Thank you so very much!

It is just perfect now, and I will go back and give you the well deserved 5 stars. It is a fantastic perspective in this shot.

Great leading lines W! I think the tone mapping was done well. Most tend to over do it and when you do you get a halo effect which I do not see here. Colors are bright, details crisp, sun and shadows are both handled well, angle of POV is fab, it all looks super to me.
Well done!

With your software adjustments, this photograph now looks like a HDR image. I see you have used Topaz too. Software I use from time to time. Like the composition with the pillars leading the eye into the distance, as does the railings. I would normally say the colours are too bright/over saturated but that is what HDR is all about. It works with some images and not others but I do think is works fine here. Depends on the subject matter.

Thank you so very much! This started off under exposed as is most shots I do like this. I used Topaz to adjust the detail. When I applied the tone mapping from photomatrix it changed everything. I like it here but it is not good for everything.
