I've never heard of water mix able oils. Incredible! Really gives a great image with lots of colors and textures. Very nicely done piece.

Many thanks for your very nice review. Yes, the water mixable oils are good as they dry quicker than regular oils but not as quick as acrylics and also you don't have the lingering smell of turps, etc.!

I really love this painting, I generally stick to photography beause I know it much better, but this one caught my eye- very lovely depiction of the waves and water. Beautiful color and detail in the splashing waves. Nice texture as well (I know a little about painting- haha) Really pretty artwork!!

This is such a lovely painting and in my opinion deserves a 6 star rating. The colours are deep, rich and give a very brooding feeling of an imminent storm. The compostion is fantastic and that touch of pink in the clouds with a very subtle reflection in the water adds a lovely little distraction for the eye. Add to that the church/castle on the land and this is just a superb painting. Well done.

This is wonderful, can really feel the closeness of that storm rolling in. I love the way you have captured the waves, this really is a picture with feeling.

You definitely have the mood of the ocean here. Looks angry. I love the blending of the different hues of blue making the sky and sea look different more by brush strokes than colour difference. Good job.

Absolutely stunning work of art. This is full of nature's power and beauty. Great colour palette especially the pink in the sky and green in the dark blue ocean. Thanks for sharing.

Oh this is a strong contender for the contest, it is visually full of initial impact due to detail painted, of lines and patterns of cloud formation.

Your consideration to light play is remarkable how you tinted in yellow on the horizon and popped in a hue of red and greenish/cyan at the right to light blue at top. With those delicate touches the art becomes very realistic and appealing.

I especially like the tonal ranges of colour in the water/waves, from green to blue,to turquoise, to white to black. The crashing of waves is not only seen, but heard. A storm is brewing and the story of your art is understood, clearly.

I like the format into a large rectangular frame, I like the full frame presentation and the hint of human habitation which is depicted as small in comparison to Mother Nature's fury.

I'm curious to know if you painted this from memory or from a photo.

Your strokes are confident, the application of oils is consistent throughout and there is no layering or stacking of paint.

This yells out to me "winner".

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I live by the sea and have done so for most of my life, so this was an imaginary seascape bringing together many memories of the rough seas we have. I'm very pleased you like this.

Very impressive interpretation of the storm, specially if is imaginary. Great painting. Nice color, contrast, and great shading, like excellent lighting and very nice frame. Good luck.
