I wish I had a six for this amazing composition. You have done a tremendous job on this oil, with tremendous color and detail. It has the ability to throw me right back to my own childhood memories.

What a lovely image and so timely for this season - the radio just announced an ice storm to arrive overnight !...Such a gentle and soft image you have created. It is the subject matter and the gentle colours you applied that give the viewer this feeling. Lovely composition..the small children at the window- the curtains balncing the image.........outside a Christmas wonderland . This would be an excellent Christmas card !! Great job !!

Being a photographer, I don't often review artwork, but I'm drawn to this because of its realism and young children included. I can imagine their fascination with the sight of falling snow. Living in the desert, snow is rare here so even I get excited when flakes fall, reminding me of my childhood. They appear to be dressed for bed, but this is more exciting than bedtime, can't miss out. This has a classic charm to it and interesting detail, showing some accumulated flakes on the window panes, illumined by the moon. Very nice painting illustrating how the cold can be exciting in the eyes of a child; maybe we adults could learn to retain some of that childlike simplicity! P.S., I saw your reply and was puzzled how it received a 5, as I intended to give it a 5.5, so here's my updated score, well done!

Suzanne,
A beautiful picture of this pair of young girls dressed in their nightdresses, gazing out of the window at the falling snow with an attitude of wonder. Beautiful soft pastel shades gloves this picture a feeling of the era of Charles Dickenson. Created with great skill & expert brushwork. Beautiful choice blending & application of the colours.

This looks like a photograph. I like the way, you've painted the french window, the two blonde girls, as conversing to each other, about the snow, and the drapes. Absolutely, the view outside that you've painted is very realistic, too. Excellent painting technique. You've painted this with clarity and really well defined details. Well done. Great choice and use of colors and shades.

What a pretty scene and one that should be on a Christmas card. Makes me think back to when I was a child and fascinated by snow falling. Although it looks beautiful the novelty soon wears off when you have to struggle to work with problems on the railways and roads! But a child's view is always more fairytale! Very well executed in pleasing colours with give that cold outside look. The two young girls look warm enough though in their nightdresses. I like the texture too from either you brushwork or perhaps it could be the canvas. Good Luck in the contest at voting time.

This reminds me of a Hallmark card. I really like the "simplicity" of your technique and brushstrokes. The lack of extra detail adds to this I beleive especially since you did such good work with your shadowing to add depth and dimension. Really like hoe you incorporated the light of the moon to highlight the out door scene. Nicely done!

So precious. I love the falling snow and the way the girls stare out the window. Great detail and lighting. This painting takes the viewer back in time when all was so innocent. Very nice job.
