I took a picture like this but yours is better!
Yeah these things are nasty and I am happy that it is cold out. Peeps hate winter but they fail to see that winter got it perks too. No bees and flies and if I want to see a butterfly I can go to the museum to see them fly around during the winter time. Oh yeah!
You got great focus and good timing and the color is really good!
Awesome job!

Exemplary Shot!

Wow - perfect lighting and exposure to bring out all the colors on that reflective shell.

Detail throughout the fly is top of the line! Detail in the wings, the hair on the legs, the eye - WOW! Your focus is superb. Even the color variation on the edge of the foreground petals.

Why is this not in the little / big contest? (You must have another block buster your holding on to for that) :-)

Willie - again, I admire your skill and expertise. Beautifully done! - Kathy

Hello Willie

Good capture of that small object. Details are excellent. Love the wings and the eye. Details on the center are good also.

The background is nicely subdued and the soft colors are excellent for enhancing the black of the fly,

Very nice job indeed. Thank you for sharing with me.

Thank you so very much for a good review and high score! When this contest came up I made a reservation and had no idea what to enter. I searched through my files and found this. I had forgotten it. I bet there is 10,000 pictures or maybe even more, I just keep shooting! I guess you do the same?

I did not know that the name was showing for these contests. I like it better when they are not, but you have a very good entry here. I think what I like the best is the golden shine you have captures in the fly, and because of the nicely softened background, the fly is standing out really well.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing clear and well defined details in the insect, and the exposure is perfect. I also like a lot the colors in this photo.

The cropping is neatly done, and the fly is well placed within the frame. This of course means a good and well balanced composition. I think this is an excellent Macro, and I wish you luck with the contest.
