This is amazing! To think that each mark is a dot that come together to form such a perfect representation of a Doberman is fascinating. The shadows and light are positioned expertly and the expression in the eyes is fitting. This really is remarkable.

leesajolly, This style is known as stipple or pointillism where the dots create the picture. Suerat and Lucien Pissario are two artists that made it famous using color? thank you for the review and I am glad you like my work, I have several other pieces using this technique including a full color piece on this site? take care... In addition to the technical brilliance you have shown here you are also showing your artistic skills to the full in the way you have portrayed this appealing dog...I would say that your patience in doing this has been well rewarded with a really fine effort !...Best wishes...Monty

I like this work a lot. I have seen other work created like this in the last couple of days, it looks very impressive. You can definitely see all the work thats gone into it, attention to detail, fantastic. It amazes me how you can get the shadowing in just the right way in ink, great job, Joanne.

Lucien, this drawing is simply amazing. I love the absolute beauty you have captured in this drawing. the amazing devotion you have captured and presented here do such wonderful justice to this beauty. the stark white background is also very complimentary to your drawing. i believe this is probably one of your very best. this is one of the best drawings i think i have ever seen anywhere. just simply fantastic.

The dog look sad, melancholy and unhappy. The detail is alright but the pen could have being use to define the edge of the drawing. What happen to shade, shadow, light and dark on the head of the dog. The hear of the dog is to light and not enough shading. You seem to use the same technique on every drawing? I wonder why. Did you do this from a picture?

the technique is stipple, the media is pen & ink on paper... take a look at my pencil drawings, there I used a different technique and media... thank you for taking the time to review... LvO

Where did you learn this technic? I thought it was done with a computer media. Thanks for clarify things.

This is amazing to me that you did this by applying individual dots. The depth of expression that you managed to create is incredible, and his eyes are so detailed and lifelike. Beautiful work. :)
