This is an extremely interesting and colorful flower, clearly from Australia as nobody here would know what a kangaroo paw would look like, You have captured this unique beauty in wonderful sunlight as it shows itself so well in front of the green blur of the landscape in the background.

Mary,
A wonderful picture of this Native Australian Plant with it's uniques blossom with green furry petals yellow stamen & red centre, with the red buds surrounding it on the stem standing out in three dimensions from the blurred background.

Thanks Susan your comments are appreciated - the red part is all I have seen before I was surprised to see the green flower but must have been the year after seeing this one I came across several more. :) Mary

I have never heard nor seen one of these before - so thank you first and foremost for sharing.

The subject offers such interest and contrast. You have done a wonderful job in capturing and presenting both for us the viewers to appreciate. Your depth of field is good and is allowing a notable distance between subject and background. Very nice - good work - Kathy

What a fascinating and beautiful plant. I would love to visit Australia some day, although your spiders are a bit off-putting. This is a lovely photo. Thanks for sharing. cainse

Thanks so much, don't let the spiders put you off they pretty much keep to themselves :) Would love to see you over here :) Mary

A lovely image, but it appears either the focus is soft or it is a bit blown out. Never the less it makes a beautiful subject.

Thanks for sharing this marvellous photo of a Kangaroo Paw in bloom! An unusual sight. Lovely focus and lighting on this native bringing out it's rich colourings. (I may have cropped this a little on the top, but that is just me). Well done.

Thanks so much, really appreciate your feedback - thought about cropping but was bit lazy and let it come straight out of camera :)
