Cleo, thank you very much for your notes, I learned something new.

This image 'gnaws' at me. It is at once heavy in black and filtered lines but that helps to pop the face which is luminescent and glowing.

I do find under her chin and around the left side of her face somewhat messy....if you compare that with the marginal lines of the opposite side of the drawing you will see that too.

I like the way you have composed her...she is coming into the image and a bit more space at the right would have given her greater movement.

Alas that is all up to artistic prerogative and I bow to yours.

I love this! She is mystical and glowing a true fairy like presence. She seems to be every where ,I like the darkness surrounding her. Lovely!

Very well done digital work of art Cleo. After reading the excellent commentary, this seems a most appropriate rendering of one of these "wee folks". I like the medium you used as it gives a mythical and magical look. The gold around the eyes is particularly eye catching. Well done Cleo ~ Steve

An interesting piece and narrative to accompany it describing who this person and people are, that by the sounds of it are now known modern day as "Leprechauns" or similar in Ireland. Good technique with the grainy black and white effect that makes up the hair & background, and the bright light face illuminates well and stands out boldly and contrasts well. The facial features are accurate and in good proprotion, and the green and yellow tinges to her features work well and add depth to the piece. Her eyes are bright and piercing, and good subtle shading has been applied well in relevant areas. Overall a lovely and creative piece - great work. :)

Thank you very much for your through and encouraging review.
No, that is not a Leprechaun in modern days, but a kind of dwarf-fairy somewhat similar to Thumbelina.

This is a very creative artwork. The face has a haunting look. The yellow color highlights her features very nicely and the background is extremely interesting.

I would have known this was yours immediately without looking at the name- the trademark "Cleo" style for certain! Mysterious and compelling. I like the line your you've used to give the illusion of depth and features. A definite mystical feel with an overtone of Art Deco. You've given just enough tonal range to suggest depth in the features. Lovely! Jean

    Thank you Jean!
That is strange that you mention Art Deco. Others have mention it to. On this piece and on others. I haven't done it purpose; but the style seems to sneak into my work.

A very sweet and delicate face of someone that seems very young. I am not into all the things in your notes, but this is a very artistic presentation with a minimal amount of color. Her eyes are really well done.

    Thank you very much!
Irish Folklore is unique it fusses characters as it fusses fairy tale and life. She is a goddess-queen and a warrior-princess in the old times, now she is as fairy-spirit, but there is one thing which did not change. She is always young, she never ages.
