Oh, I just love that we connect on so many levels! The Tuatha de Danann are fascinating to me! You have represented them in such beauty here. Love the limited use of color and the eyes are just magical--who would expect anything less :) Great job.

I am happy too! I am fascinated with all of Ireland, but especial with myths and folktales and the history, which somehow seems all the same in Ireland.

Yes I agree. You know I have also always been in love with Scotland so when I went on my big Great Britain tour in 2005 I was certain that Scotland would be my favorite, but you know what? I loved Ireland the best! Would really like to spend more time there.

Interesting idea to paint a mythical creature. She certainly has an other world quality. There is something that doesn't work for me at the base of her neck. It is not clear if the neck stops and some kind of garment begins. Maybe add some of the green to make a sharper division.
You must do a lot of reading to plow through books like the Book of Invasions! Congratulations on you depth of knowledge.

Green??? There must be something wrong with the post. I did not use green or any other color beside the metallic gold.
No there is no garment orb body. She is just materialising herself out of thin air. At the moment she is ghost like. I painted in black and white and distorted some of her facil features to emphasize the ghost feel. Than rendered with metal gold to add royality and emphasize even more.
