To me this should be entered into a "color red" contest because the flower subtly attracts you into the different shades of scarlet with a hint of pink; my admiration!

Thank you very much for your encouraging review. :o)
I cannot enter a color red contest because it is against the rules of FAR to enter a painting already posted.

Yes I realize, and I am not sure a Color Red contest is even being offered, but frame it or change it in any other way, and rename it, and I am quite confident you can. Ask Tom. Maybe name it Red Flower or... In adobe Illustrator they have many frame and border options under BRUSHES, maybe in Photoshop too if you have access. Also, if it were me, I might put some more suggestion of something red berries, just to change it a tad -- just a suggestion...

No, I cannot. I have ask Tom already about because this is a question we are oft ask at the welcome committee. Even with a different title it would be a double posting which is against the rules of FAR and could be punished with the termination of the account of the artist.

Now you have me intrigued. I read, or misread that you could do this just last week, and now don't recall exactly where on FAR that I read it. I will let you know if I find it. I never tried, just was surprised. Something along the lines that if you did not win a contest perhaps. I'll see if I can find it.

No luck in finding what I am sure I read, but perhaps it was in someone's post, who was mislead. If I do run across it I will note the source. I queried Tom too, who confirms what you said. So sorry for misleading you!!!

Its maybe in the General Forum. Some of the entries there are strange. The rule was made because people who have posted before have an advantage over new post in blind contests, because the viewers know who they are. :o)

Maybe it was someone mislead. Many of our New Members don't bother to read the Q&A and the contest rules. :o)

Yes, it is one of things that is still irking me because I actually think it was FAR, but I will take a picture when I come across it again. I think now that it came up after I placed in or voted in a contest; it doesn't matter of course, but if I was mislead, someone else could be as well, so I feel a sense of duty to find it, lol!

It could be very complicated to find it. Let me know if you find out. :o)

Wow. No wonder this one was an All Time Best work of digital art.

The dramatic red of the flower is complimented by the almost mystical background.

The entire scene is well framed so very eye appealing. Great work Cleo ~ Steve

This is beautiful, Cleo. Lovely digital art impression of a Spring meadow and I like that you have concentrated on the one wild flower, using complementary colours. Love the soft brush strokes in this creating a dreamy effect. Excellent use of colour, light and shade. Really lovely composition. Suzanne

Cleo this is just so beautiful... exactly as if you did this in actual paints in stead of computer.

You really do put an artistic spin on your pieces.

I love spring as well.. but I would not mind a bit more winter since they are mild here. :)

This is such a lovely sight! I am really anxious for spring. You show this spring meadow so well, I love this bright red petaled flower and really appreciate the way it is standing out in the green meadow. Well shaped blossom with nice shape and structure, the angle you placed it at allows a good sense of how this flower grows, it's a good show of the green casing and stem too. Very well applied colors with realistic tones. Well presented!

It doesnt look digital it looks like a hand paint so congratulations on a very well rendered picture of spring. A season I love, I think because it comes after dreary days of winter. I like your colour arrangement, the mass of fresh green, the strong red and the glimpse of blue sky.
