this is something quite common but rarely seen. Would made a great entry in the wedding contest too. Very touching and pretty clear to read. Nice photo. I'm glad that you noticed , not many persons would.

Thank you so much, Danrae, for this encouraging review. I like the many points you gave about it. I never thought about the wedding contest with this, thanks:)

Well done. How many wives through the years have done this very thing. I remember it well. Even if you don't read the letter, it is an emotional statement to see the writing and see the great choice of stamps.

Oh thank you, very much. I struggled getting the shot, kept getting my own shadow, ha. Yes, the letter is a model, but the info true, though some drama about the money, he was usually just telling me be saving with it, take care of car. The rest happened. I just rewrote it from memory about what I would have said.

Interesting idea. I'm reminded of those pictures of original music scores painted in the 18th century. The stamps add a nice touch. Very nice.

Nice rose wood table, ruled paper, pen and beautiful hand writing captured very artistically with US postal stamps. Nice snap.

Thank you so much for this very insightful and interesting review:) I just tried to keep this mostly true, letter model, like the way it was when I originally was writing to my husband as a 19 year old girl:)

The idea and theory behind this shot is excellent but I really do not think it meets the pic...Sorry but it is JUST my humble opinion....Best wishes

Your opinion is just as welcome as anyone's, thank you. Do you mean the words don't go with the pic or the whole thing doesn't fit the "still life" criteria? Just wondered, but this will help me futurewise in my photos:)

Subject is unique and unusual. Angle position is nice partnered with the pen and stamps. Lighting is fine and offers good contrast with the background. Initial impact is one of surprise and then evokes a feeling of sorrow when the letter is read.

Excellent creativity for a still life contest. Simple, beautiful and very true to life. When a love letter is written all is still and it emits much emotion. The pen, stamps and envelope ready for sending complete this picture. The wooden desk makes a great background and the angle of the picture is perfect. Great framing and a wonderful art piece for this contest. So refreshing to see an artist think "outside the box" Good luck in the contest.

It's like viewing the love and anguish of a so many these days. Beautiful sentiment. I love that the paper's edge will be torn from the binding, the way the pen was left and the postage waiting to be put on the envelope. It's a peek into one woman's hopes and dreams of what's to come. Well done!
