Mary! You are getting better girl! The focus is awesome on the eye and entire bird. Super feather detail.
I would only have changed the background removing the cage.
Awesome shooting!
BRAVO!

Looks like the star of the movie Rio and Rio II that we've taken our grandkids to see. Don't know if you've seen that movie in Australia but its an animated kids movie about rare blue macaws. This shot immediately reminded me of those movies. A nice sharp image of this beautiful big Macaw in it's cage. So pretty of a blue with a bit of yellow around the eye and lower beak. A nice photo Mary and thanks for showing it to us.

Thanks Fred, no fortunately you could focus through the wider mesh unlike some of the other aviaries. :) Mary

Very, very nice!
The focus on the feathers is remarkable!
The color of the bird, while provided by mother nature, is stunning --- especially because the yellow/orange is a complementary color of blue.
The cage gives a simple background grid to the complexity of the feathers.

Aahh, this is so sad Mary, that these beautiful birds need to be held captive. The colours are splendid, so beautifully vivid and well exposed in this image. you have however captured him with such dignity, lovely image and thanks so much for sharing!

A beautiful subject. Ordinarily I'm not a fan of cages and enclosures showing in pix. Here it works fine and even adds a storyline to the image. Colors and composition are outstanding and the details in the eye and plumage are first rate.
