What a catch and perfectly composed. Exposure and focus are pretty darned good considering having a split second to capture this! You might try selecting the whale and just sharpening him a touch. Also select the sky and darken it a bit to bring down the highlights and pop the color. Wonderful!

Wow what a great action shot. I see this was in Cabo, hopefully this was taken a while back and not recently with the hurricanes. What great detail. The bluish tone gives it a cool feel to the overall photo. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great review. Photo was taken in February. This is when the whales are breeding before they migrate north.

What a great shot this is, and captured just at the right moment. Your stop action is just perfect. With the light blue sky and the softened distance the whale is standing out in the most excellent way.

Your photo is also nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details in every part of the animal and the exposure is very good. It is actually a lovely and soft light in this photo due to the time of the day.

The slight crop has worked well, and the whale has got a good placement within the frame. Indeed a well taken photo and with a very good DOF.

A bit sharper focus on this would have been nice --- but, gee it's a whale during dinner! What a dinner show!!

I do like the angle of the breach -- he certainly was posing for you. The mountains in the background add a lot of depth and interest to the shot.

there is really no reason to look at the sky in the presence of such a wonderful stop action; usually we only see the tail, but here you have an excellent capture of the head, with a clear eye;
