Sad? Reflective? Love? Whatever, although not an artist, I guess I like this most because I recognized who it is immediately. Great job. Cheers, James.

    Thank you very much James!
Sad, reflective, love; I think you it is all of it. I don't know when the painting I used as reference was made, but I think it was after the untimely death of her husband, just by her expression.

Well done! You did a beautiful job on the details. The colors you used are so elegant and you use of light and shadows is very good. You are very talented :) Thanks for sharing :)

Beautifully presented. I know little about digital painting and do not know how much talent and expertise that it takes to accomplish a drawing such as this but it is well done and so I give you a five.

Thank you very much for your kind review!
I really do not know either about talent and expertise. I know it needs experience and time. I painted with traditional media mostly oil] before starting at digital painting. I work now with this technique for about 8-9 years. A piece like this needs about 50 hours from start to finish.

Very nice work Cleo, and I give you a lot of credit for stepping out and giving it a try. I think you did a remarkable job with the lighting, the depth and toning, far more than I the stick figure queen :))

Thank you very much for your review. Your review ids a great encouragement. :o)
I have painted portrait before, but usually refuse to use the work of other artists as reference.
[To which picture o you refer as the stick figure queen? I have never painted or drawn anything with this title.]

I am sorry Cleo, I forget sometimes that English isn't your first language since you handle it so well, lol. I meant myself, I can only draw a stick figure, rudimentary art figures :)

Ups, I am sorry for my misunderstanding.
By the way, Some artists got famous for stick and rudimentary art figures and hang now in modern art galleries around the world. :o)

Well, I find that his look is like absent, by that is a distracted facial expression. I do not know as explain it. Is as be in a place and to think in other thing, you understand? Is a very nice lady and I love the soft curve of the neck and the skin tone. Good lighting, shading, and excellent frame. Well done

Serenity, resignation, calmness, confidence, boredom, patience, ....the expression is whatever the viewer can read into it.

This is the first time I have seen a posting like this by you Cleo and I quite like the realism shown. You have done well on many levels.

I like the compositional style of this portrait, you have good marginal space all round. The light and shadow play are very good and well seen. Your strokes are soft and confident and there is no build up of paint that shows confidence in your medium used.

Dimensional proportions are SPLENDID Cleo really beautifully rendered. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this kind of work from you....to my eyes it is top notch.

You understand your tonal values as well from black to white and much in between. The palette used is earthy tones giving a nostalgic feel of a bygone era.

I have no constructive criticism to give you to improve...from eye catchment to technical to emotional this is exquisite work.

You have just received a Cyber 6.

This is probably true, we see what we believe to see. We might even see a artwork different each time we look when our mood has changed.
I have painted many portraits before but usually refuse to use the picture of another artist as reference, this time I had no choice.
I prefer to use my own photos. This is only the second time that I used a work of someone else, and the first time that I used a painting.
Thank you for your throughout review and your splendid cyber 6. Feels like a 10 to me.
