a wonderful close up Mary of this magnolia grandiflora: in our region, thry bloom during July;
excellent lighting, focus and control of exposure for the white;;

Oh, I can almost smell it as I look at those lovely blossoms and waxy leaves. Lovely photo with soft lighting, nice depth of field and excellent focus.

    Thanks Beny, not sure was shooting into sunlight so perhaps had settings wrong. Thought it was ok. :) Mary

Beautiful lighting on this big bloom Mary. So pretty and I really like the softness that the light and shadows create on this all white flower. So pretty and captured with skill. Nice work and thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful shot of the magnolia. Great color and sharpness. I like the texture of the petals. Nice darkness on background to highlight the flower in the foreground. Good job. Luck.

Wow, great work Mary to show the beauty on back-lighting. Reminds me of seeing these trees in Mississippi many years ago. Love the dark shadows, focus and frame to show the beauty of this white blossom. Good work.

A fine shot under lighting conditions that are easy to underexpose. Excellent composition/cropping and very fine details. The colors are beautifully subtle.

This really is a unique POV for the magnolia! I see you have an artist's eye! While the background is perfect, I think the blossom itself is a bit soft in focus.

Nice backlighting!
Impressive capture! Harmonious colors. Nice perspective & narrow DOF. The bloom seems to be in awkward pose!
Excellent lighting, focusing & framing. Thanks for sharing...
