Well this is indeed a unique entry using a candle light. But, I have spent over an hour studying what artificial light is.
Artificial lighting is any lighting that is NOT sunlight.
So, since candles are man made..I say this fits the criteria for the contest.
I like the ambient light and glow the flame of the candle offers and the melting wax offering some details and textures. Fine clarity and focus.
Nicely done.

Artificial lighting is any lighting that is NOT sunlight.
So, since candles are man made..I say this fits the criteria for the contest.
I like the ambient light and glow the flame of the candle offers and the melting wax offering some details and textures. Fine clarity and focus.

I have never thought of a flame from a candle as artificial light, but perhaps you could say it is. I like the way you arranged the candle. It is actually quite nice with the red inner part and the golden hues around it. I can actually see the fairy horse as well. Everything is of course standing out well against the dark background.
Your photo is also nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details, and it is really lovely the way the light from the flame is shining through the edges of the candle. The flame itself is probably a bit too bright, but I know how difficult it is to et this completely right.
The photo is nicely cropped and the candle has got a nice placement off to the left. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you very much for your through review and your wishes. A candle is man made and therefore considered artificial. I wil look into the brightness of the flame. I have to check the contest rules if mixed media is legal, otherwise some burning might be possible.

Of course you are right. I just had not thought about it. I don't remember if the contest allows mixed media, but a bit of burning doesn't really constitute Mixed Media.

I have checkt on it mixed media is allowed, so I will try some burning or some airbrush perhaps.

A good shot and not that easy to pull off. It certainly is eye catching and the arrangement is spot on. I confess to not being able to see the fairy horse, I guess my imagination must be at a low ebb today.
