It is really something special about these bleached roots, and they serve as a perfect foreground for a seascape like this, which otherwise would have been a bit boring. My only concern is that it might be a bit too centered. I think this would have been an even better shot with a bit more room on the left side.
Your photo is of course as always nice and sharp and it is really fine details to be seen in the root. I also think the exposure is perfect, and I appreciate the nice and natural colors.
I have already written something about the composition, but I honestly believe that the composition also works your way. It is a lovely scene and a well taken photo of it, and the DOF is excellent. Again I wish you luck with the contest.

Willie, nice to see you posting once again. A great shot and thank you for your artist's notes. I think the Topaz Adjust was used appropriately, it is so easy to overdo this filter. The details are all well shown. The image is balanced, nicely saturated but I would not have minded just a tad more foreground. Good contrast as well. I like scenes like this both finding them in real life and in photos.

A very fine shot with a great subject dominating the foreground. Excellent cropping and beautiful colors. I like the remote look with the tall sea grass on the right.
