Linda, there's no image of the beautiful haze. You need to reload the image. I am sorry about your daughter. Please repost, we need to see the portrait of her. Have a blessed day!

i'm sure this work of art is absolutely wonderful, hence the five star rating, but i think you need to resize the file, because nothing's showing up on my computer

I tried viewing this yesterday as well... It does not open the drawing and I would love to see it. Please see I if you need to resize and repost. My heart goes out to you in this very difficult time. No need to answer,... Don't mean to be noisy, but was she I'll? I'd be happy to be there if you need someone to talk to. Hugs. Lauren

Linda, this is wonderful work and the tone and mode is very appealing. Your daughter is certainly a great beauty. I'm very impressed with the shading in her face, along her jaw line and mouth. Her eyes are absolutely perfect and the little hint of a glint in the them is wonderfully drawn.

Bravo.. Deserves a 6 that I don't have!

Steve, you see it. You know. I am impressed with your review, and so very grateful.

I always wish I had a six to give you, Linda. First off, you have lovely daughter. What a thrill to use her as your model. I can't say that she inspired you to dig deep into the character of your subject, because you always seem to do that. But I what I see in her eyes is an artist who truly knows and loves this person. Stunning work of art! Good luck!

Dearest Nature, you are so right on. Having Alyssa as a model is truly a blessing. She is my heart. There is something about drawing someone that you are spiritually connected to that makes the work seem to flow so easily.

The very second the viewer open this file, they are rewarded with drawing that has life. After they recover from being in awe that it was done in pencil, their eye is drawn to every corner of the canvas admiring every detail. Her masterful skill in shading helps the 3D illusion to given it perfect depth. The detail is so perfect I expect her to blow me a kiss. The creation is perfectly balanced and very eye appealing to the viewer. (A footnote: I have been gigged on reviews of my work not showing all the head in my drawings. I applaud u for ur choice on how u want to express this work to the viewer and agree with ur vision and presentation) overall superb work overall (standing clapping and cheering ) woooooooooohooooo!

Hi Linda,

In photography the professional portrait photographers are doing exactly what you have done. They amputate heads, arms, legs....they tilt and twist and as long as they get the emotional aspect into the image the image succeeds...and so it is with your art.

A success.....a beautiful success.

You don't need to know anything about composition to realize you're looking at an engaging image. Sometimes our rules of thumb are a disadvantage, especially if we've only learned a few basics. But somewhere in the process of this image coming into being, a eye for art was involved either by instinct or by learning.

Formally or informally, you can actually get away with what this image is doing, using the "rule of fifths" to compose an image. When a portrait is involved, under the right circumstances, rule of fifths can create or enhance drama. This picture has a subtle drama almost as if we have stolen a glance because for a split second, this person's eyes have met ours, perhaps never to meet again -- and it's because the eyes are at the top of the frame as if we barely caught their glimpse before they vanished that the impression is so much stronger than if it had been framed more sedately. The subject is not comfortable with the idea that many eyes (or few) should examine her physiognomy at length. It's a kind of burden of beauty.

The hair is forward on her right and perhaps one has noticed that in our modern day, hair arranged like this seems to be used the same way a fan was in the 18th century, an interesting way to enhance privacy, to keep unwanted eyes off the face and keep the disagreeable out of view -- another burden of beauty -- an arrangement most often seen among the very comely.

Actresses and models attempt this look numerously as a matter of their image-making work. But that is not who we are looking at here, which makes it that much more startling. We are looking at real life.

This is the most remarkable review I have ever received and I am so amazed. Your knowledge of the art form far exceeds mine. But the information which you have shared with me has enlightened my understanding. Thank you so much for your encouragement, and generosity.

Very well drawn image of your daughter. Especially like the beautiful intent eyes and full lips. It looks a bit overexposed and imagine that is from the picture of the drawing and it looks better in person. Your talent is exceptional.
