Mary,
A beautiful picture of the Red & cream coloured bloom I'm not sure but could this be an unusual type of Fuchsia? The dark background making it pop out in three dimensions from it, Beautiful composition, framing & soft lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

Thanks Susan don't think it is related to fuchsia it is an Aussie native but can't remember the name ☺ Mary

The Fuchsia which you see all over Ireland is NOT native itcomes from Persia in the mountains, but as you saw it's very happy lining our roads.

A nice looking blossom with great form which reminds me a little of fuchsia with that red balloon. I like the colors and the very nice cropping.

Thanks Lori this is fully opened and you can get about 50 flowers on one plant at its best. :-)

Hi, this picture immediately caught my attention when I saw it on the side of my window for up next, but unfortunately when I opened it up, I saw a lot of things I would like to share with you, but first lets talk about what I love in this picture, I love the positioning in the frame well done on that one, Beautiful colors and good use of light, I love the way it is hanging down like a tear drop, as if the little flower is lonely, It suites your story well, with it being winter there aren't many blooms around. Now what I do notice immediately is the camera movement and lack of clarity, it's missing detail because of camera movement blur or the subject was blowing in the wind, If it is possible use a tripod and hold the branch that the flower is steady with your hand and then try again, but that's just my opinion and how I would look at it, nice presentation and like I said over all, this is a nice photo and good composition.

Mary, it's a great catch but it is blurred and I do believe it must be from the breeze blowing it around.

The colours are great and the bokeh helps to draw the eye and it echoes colours of the flower.

nice focus on the flower and nice supporting blur background, but the colors and contrast need to be adjust in order to make this piece more attractive

also, the flower is too centered in the frame

thanks for sharing
