This is an adorable photograph. I really like the color tones in is. The snow looks amazing and cold! I like the focus of this as well. Glad the squirrel got his treasure before the blue jay! They certainly are aggressive birds! :) Thanks for sharing!

Cute guy, nice capture in time in a good pose. Cropping is a bit too tight, the critter needs some space in front of him. Focus should be on head and out of focus areas appear strange.
Would suggest a smaller f stop to increase the amount in focus. Would increase the iso to allow both a faster speed (motion blur occurs) and to increase the depth of focus.
Halos indicate over sharpening.

You are definitely right about the bluejays. You can easily lure them to a perch by putting peanuts nearby. The is a fine shot with very good cropping and and a great subtle vignette. It looks a bit oversharpened, no doubt an attempt to improve the softness on his head. Best of luck in the contest.

Thanks, yes I think it might be a little oversharpened. I was trying to get a little less softness in his head. I would say it was only a minor success in capturing this fellow. Most times I only get the tail in the frame since they don't want to sit still long enough to get good focus. :)

The stop action is great, good frame nice colors and good depth, nice exposure, good mixed media effect but, is a bit Tad soft focus, good effort, Jairos

A beautiful capture of the Grey Squirrel caught about to run off with one of your in the shell Pea Nuts the bright snow in the background making the squirrel stand out in three dimensions, the slight blur on the squirrel's Brush tells me how fast she is moving. Beautiful composition framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

Thank you. This was a difficult subject to shoot. They are so fast and I was up close so I was lucky to get this.

I know exactly what you mean, you focus & click & are often left with just a tail in the picture. I quiet like a movement blur as that's more as you'd see it in real life!
